Who we are
MBDIO.uk is run by and .
MBDIO is hosted in a UpCloud () Data center in New York City. As of now MBDIO is the name of the PDS, we might change it in the feature to a "real name".
Your first thought was probably "really... it's hosted in the US" (.uk is cheaper to buy when using the Cloudflare Registrar), the reason for this is cost, it's not cheaper to run the VPS in the US, we already had a server in New York and starting up a new one somewhere else would cost us more in the long run.
Our Mission
Our goal with MBDIO is to make using Bluesky Easy, the AT Protocol is very confusing and simple at the same time, most users just sign up on bsky.app or blacksky.community and have no idea what just happened. MBDIO is short, and easy to say/remember, like bsky.social and blacksky.app.
We offer features some PDSes don's such as, Daily backups and Email 2FA.
*note: email 2FA is beta testing
As of now we don't have any plans for a Bluesky client, but I'm sure will cook something up.
